This policy explains what personal information Roofers Exeter collects, why, and what we do with it. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What We Collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, and what you tell us about the job, including how urgent it is and the roof type if you give it.
When you call us the call may be routed through a call-tracking service. That service records the number you called from, the time and length of the call, and which of our numbers you dialled. Calls may be recorded for quality and training. The phone number displayed on this site may vary between visitors as part of that tracking; every number reaches the same service.
When you visit the site our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts from third parties.
Why We Collect It
- To pass your enquiry to an independent roofing business covering your area, which is the service you have asked for. The lawful basis is that this is necessary to take the steps you have requested before a contract.
- To contact you about your enquiry if something needs clarifying.
- To measure which of our pages and numbers generate enquiries, so we can run the service. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating it.
Who We Share It With
The roofing business we pass your enquiry to. They receive your name, contact details, postcode and what you told us about the job. From that point they are a controller of your information in their own right, and their handling of it is covered by their own privacy notice.
Our service providers. Our web host, our email provider and our call-tracking provider process information on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiry details are kept for up to two years so that we can deal with any follow-up, complaint or dispute, and then deleted. Call-tracking records are kept for the same period. Server logs are kept for a shorter period by our host.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to our use of it, and to receive a copy of it. Email info@roofersexeter.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
